Julia Born (1975), born in Zürich, is a designer living in Amsterdam. After her studies at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie she worked on several projects and publications between Switzerland and The Netherlands, for clients such as the Museum Boijmans van Beuningen, Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, Federal Office of Culture, Bern, Casco – Office for Art, Design and Theory, Utrecht, Metropolis M, contemporary art magazine. In 2003 she won the Swiss Design Prize. In 2002 she was a tutor graphic design at the École cantonale d’art de Lausanne, and from 2003 she teaches graphic design at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam. Since 2003 she is a jury member for The Most Beautiful Swiss Books.
