Peter Buchanan-Smith (1972) was born in Canada and lives in New York City. He received his Masters of Fine Arts from The School of Visual Arts. He has worked for Farrar, Straus and Giroux and at the New York Times, where he was the art director of the Opinions and Editorial Page. His first book Speck was published in 2001 and he has since published, designed, and packaged many other successful projects. In 2005, he became the creative director at Paper magazine, won a Grammy award for his design of Wilco’s album A Ghost is Born, became the consulting creative director to Isaac Mizrahi, and formed his design studio.
